From floodplains in the wet season and wildlife that inhabit the Northern Territory.  A page especially for those moments when storm chasing takes a back seat.

My home in Darwin,  Northern Territory has some of the most spectacular landscapes in the world, whether it be sunsets with an aqua coloured sea or wetland floodplains teeming with wildlife or prehistoric looking termite mounts reaching for the skies.  It's a photographers dream.

The following photos will not be in any particular order.  These are an assortment of photographs that I've taken when either out chasing storms or relaxing on my days off and enjoying the native bird life and landscape features or just something that catches the eye.

No artificial colouring or additives!

Yep, it's a crocodile trap!  This is a recent addition to the wetlands area visited by many people.  Don't ever think that crocodiles aren't around in our waters...they are!

Crocodiles

A series of photos that give show the crocodile's 'expressions' - watching these reptiles is almost hypnotic, millions of years of evolution and they have changed little!  The Northern Territory has some of the largest crocodiles in the world, only the Nile crocodile of Africa rivals them for size.  In fact the largest croc over 18 feet was measured in the N.T!

Huge 5.5 metre male croc rears up out of the water.
